Mr. Poe
Okay, so I missed the making of 'I'm not okay' from MCR.
Aargh. Lonny didn't call at all.
Hpmh. I guess I just have to look for re-runs.
So, today for Drama, not much.
Before Drama, I had to clean stuff in a room.
Yes, CLEAN. I'm suddenly so familiar with it.
So, Shaz, Zach and myself, we were in-charge of the books.
And I stumbled across this book called the 'The Black Cat'
by Edgar Allan Poe. Well, I read the first few lines, got engrossed,
and stole the book. What's new.
Edgar Allan Poe.
'My mind was full of pain and horror...'
No writer knew pain and horror than Edgar Allan Poe.
He lived most of his life afraid of things in his own mind.
He was born Edgar Poe on 19th January 1809 in Boston, USA,
but he lived with a rich family called the Allans in Richmond,
Virginia, after his real father left home and his mother died.
Mrs Allan loved him like a real son but her husband was not kind to him.
He took Edgar away from university, after less than a year, because the
boy was spending too much money.
This hurt Edgar very deeply. The dislike between him and John Allan grew and in 1827
he left the Allans' home forever.
The rest of his life was very unhappy. He was always writing, and worked
for newspapers and magazines, but he never made any money from his books
of poems and stories. He was often ill and drank too much because
of his unhappiness. He died on 7th october 1849, a very poor man.
Since his death, he has becaome on of the most famous of all American writers.
His first books nowsell for hundreds of thousands of pounds.
I read the first part of the book. When he described the way he
killed the cat, I put the book down and refused to touch it.
Horrid. But. Interesting.
Anyway. Cashvin, stop frying chicken and call me.
